Reading in Room 1
In room 1 we enjoy reading. We read all sorts of books: library books, big books, readers and poems.
We are learning how to read. This is how we learn how to read:
We use the picture to tell us about what is happening in the story
We match our fingers to the words on a page
We look at beginning letters and end letters to check that what we are saying looks right
We are also working on being able to retell the stories we have been reading.
We love reading!
