Why it is great to be a Year 7 and 8 at Huapai is outlined below:
Your child will be involved in one of the 3 following programmes:
1) Technology at Taupaki School
Covering soft technology (sewing), food technology, and hard technology (wood and metal work). In Yr 7 you cover all three of the options. In Yr 8 you select two to specialise in.
Students attend on a Wednesday - a bus takes students at 9.00am and brings them back at 2.30pm.
If a student is not at technology they are taking part in our alternative Wednesday programme, music, art, drama and dance outlined below.
2) Music
Students work with our music tutors Paul and Steven to develop an understanding of music, learn how to play instruments and form a band. Each year group attends music for half a wednesday over two terms while not attending technology at Taupaki.
The bands perform at a concert at the end of each term - usually the last week at 2pm on the Wednesday. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to come along.

Drama - Mrs Shaw
Dance - Mrs Leslie
