What you should do if your child......

 

Is unable to come to school

Parent to phone office before 8.55am on
412-5042 Extn 1 (24 hr line) or email
yvonne@huapaidistrict.school.nz also
before 8.55am.

 

Is late to school

The child should report to the office so we
can adjust the attendance record.

 

Is ill at school

In class: Tell the teacher who will take appropriate
action.
                           
At break: Tell a duty teacher who will take
appropriate action.

 

Needs to use a phone

Ask a teacher, or the office staff.

 

Needs to have time off in term time

Parent to write to the Principal to discuss
the absence

 

Is looking for lost property

Check thoroughly in all obvious places
where it was last.  Check with your teacher
in case it has been returned to the room.
Check the lost property station in the hall
foyer.

 

Damages to school property (even by accident)

See the duty teacher straight away

 

Needs stationery

School stationery lists go home in
December to allow thrifty shopping.
Consumables such as pens, pencils, glue
sticks, rulers and rubbers may need to be
replenished during the year.

 

Wants to know about forthcoming events

Check the weekly newsletter or website
Encourage your child to read daily notices.

 

Is not wearing school uniform

Bring a note to school outlining the reason
and when it will be sorted.  Show your
class teacher and take it to the office.  You
will be given a uniform exemption pass for
a limited period.

 

Is worried about something at school

See the classroom teacher or senior management.

 

Needs to pay school fees

Accounts for 2012 can be paid to the office
by cheque or cash, or by direct credit
online banking.  EFTPOS is also available in
the office.

 

Has a note or other form to give the office

Children can either give their teachers or
the office staff all forms, payments,
permission slips, and any other
correspondence.  If the child gives it to
their teacher it will be sent up to the office
in the classroom bag in the morning.

 

Wants information about sporting activities

Check the newsletter or see Mr Stenning
(Rm 10) or Mr Greene (Rm 13) who are the
sporting activities teachers in charge of sport.
