Technology

Our Year 7 and 8 students spend one day a week at the Taupaki Technology Centre, learning about food technology, hard materials (wood and metalwork), and soft materials (fabrics). They work through the process  of understanding a brief, designing and making a product, and evaluating its effectiveness. They have a lot of fun and produce many worthwhile and useful items. Students who have paid their technology fees are able to take the items home.

The technology programme takes place on Wednesdays. The Year 8 students attend in terms 1 and 2, the Year 7s in terms 3 and 4, each year. When students are not attending the Technology Centre, their Wednesday programme consists of visual art, physical education, and either film-making or robotics.
