 Weekly events in Year 7/8

Monday: Syndicate assembly: 

This is a time for students to share their learning with the other children in the team.  Certificates are also given out to students based on voting by students in class, based on the school values, acknowledging those students who have been identified by their peers as showing the Huapai Values.

Tuesday: Syndicate sport 

Whole syndicate Physical education and sports practice.   This is where students develop their skills in physical education, as well as competing against their classmates and others in the syndicate. Please make sure students have appropriate footwear for this.

Wednesday: Tech/ Arts Programme

Year 7 students go to Taupaki School for the technology programme which offers them hard materials, sewing, and food technology where they explore the technological process.

Year 8 students remain at Huapai for the arts programme.  In this time, the students work with Miss Fairchild on Visual Art, Miss Bolton in Music, and with the tutors from Performance net in Dance and Drama.  This continues our commitment to developing our students both academically and creatively.

Friday:  Whole school assembly

Friday afternoons are our Assembly Leaders run exciting and interactive assemblies around a different theme each week.  Assembly leaders are chosen by staff and students from students who audition for the position, and change every 8 weeks.  This is another example of leadership opportunities our students take up through the year.
