Room 16
Term three - Science
In term three we are looking at patterns
and relationships in the physical world (physics). Through this we will be experimenting as scientists to find
new information.
As the term continues, we will try to keep
you informed about our experiments and findings.
Term two - Communication through dance.
In term two we have been looking at communicating ideas through the medium of dance.
We chose the style of interpretive dance to share our ideas. We told two stories through dance, the plight of the Kiwi, and the Pukekos demise.

Beach Planting
In term two Room 16 went to Muriwai beach to help care for our environment. In this trip we spent our morning planting spinifex plants to help care for the sand dunes. We found out about how these native plants help keep the sand dunes stable with their root systems, and are not affected by salt water as other plants can be. After planting around 1000 plants in the dunes, we enjoyed the lunch provided, and went to explore the gannet colony.
Many thanks to Van and the rangers from the Auckland Council for giving us the opportunity to help in our local environment.
