The Pukekos demise.
This story told of a small Pukeko who starts the day happily in her
nest. As she leaves and forages for food, her eggs are taken by a Hawk
and a Possum. This story captures our concerns about how our native
birds are at risk from native and introduced predators.
The plight of the Kiwi
This story starts with the Kiwi exploring her forest. She is sad to return to see that the trees have been cut down. Then her environment is covered in rubbish, and finally she is attacked and killed by a stoat. This story is about how people are thoughtlessly effective the environment of our native animals.
