Our School Logo Significance

What it means

Our children are central to every decision we make at school.  In the picture they represent our community of learners - children, staff and parents.

The kete represents difference.  We need to appreciate that we all choose different options to gather, store or try on our journey and this is what makes us unique.

Ngahere, the forest represents growth and strength (mana).  We need to support and help each other to stand tall and be proud of who we are.

Huawhenua is the orchard.  The fruit represents knowledge, skills, understandings and tools. We need these things to help us grow.

Akaroa are the grape vines.  We need to be like them, reaching out, trying new things and taking new challenges.

Moananui is the sea.  We need to be creative and flexible to meet different situations and conditions (calm, storm, swells, rips, waves).

Ra the sun, represents our motto, vision and charter.  We need focused light to give us direction on our journey through school.

The takapu represents loyalty, being proud, going above and beyond.

Rangi, the sky, represents the NZ curriculum, the learning plan that sits above everything we do.
