Senior Leadership Message

“It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." -Sir Edmund Hillary

We are thrilled that our Year 8 students are embarking on an exhilarating adventure this week – climbing the majestic Mount Tongariro! This journey is not just a physical challenge but also a journey of personal growth and discovery.

Sir Edmund Hillary once said, "It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." This quote perfectly encapsulates the spirit of our expedition. While the physical act of climbing a mountain is an achievement in itself, the true conquest is the personal battles each student overcomes along the way – fear, doubt, and physical limits.

The Tongariro climb is a key part of our Year 8 programme, designed to instil resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence in our students. Through this experience, they learn valuable life skills, such as perseverance, leadership, and the importance of supporting each other.

Thank you for entrusting us with the opportunities to help your children grow.

Deputy Principal
