Senior Leadership Message

What a fantastic community we have!

Last Friday, with the threatening email schools received, will go down as one of the more bizarre days in our school life! To the credit of our community we had every child collected, accounted for and off site by 10.40am. What a massive interruption! What a huge impact on our parents and how unsettling it was for our children.

It is so annoying that a single act could have such an impact on so many schools, workplaces and parents. As much as everything inside us told us to ignore this threat, we had to take it seriously. It was only as the day unfolded were we able to understand how widespread and ridiculous it was.

Our review and reflection of this was, should it occur again (and we had fine weather) we would reposition school outside for the day or until things were resolved. Thank you for your support.

We seriously value how our community can get behind the school so quickly and so effectively.

John Petrie
Principal

Athletes aged 5 & 6 experienced their first Athletics Meet, competing in 4x25m Relays while, Athletes aged 7+ took part in 4x100m, 4x200m as well as some in 4x400m.

Outstanding results all round which included Riverhead Athletics 8yo Girls team (Feat. Harper Curtis, Kassie Lean & Piper Stagg-McLeod) taking the win in both their 4x100m and 4x200m races.
Special mention to Harrison Bristow who stepped up from 9yo Boys to help the 11yo Boys complete their 4x400m team.
