About The Area
Huapai District School is a semi-rural school located 28km north-west of Auckland’s city centre and 40km from Auckland International Airport.
Huapai meaning “good fruit” has a rich tradition of orchards and wine growing, with grapes first planted at Huapai in 1943. Today the area attracts horse-riders, surfers and mountain-bikers with beaches, forests and hot pools on our doorstep.
Our closest beach is only 15km from the school, with other west-coast surf beaches and safe swimming beaches less than an hour by car.
In fact, our school emblem represents the forests, sea, vines and fruit of the area.
